To improve overall internet security, we recommend scanning your computer for the presence of computer viruses, keystroke monitoring, spyware and adware programs. For example, if you use Symantec Antivirus, install the most current updates and select the additional option under Scan Computer > Options and select "Scan for Expanded Threats" to detect spyware and adware.
Other anti-spyware tools that you might consider using are Ad-Aware or Spybot Search & Destroy. Spyware and adware can unknowingly be downloaded from Web sites (typically in shareware or freeware), email messages, and instant messenger software. You may unknowingly download adware by accepting an End User License Agreement from a software program.
